Only slightly. Beth is one of the more complex female characters in the show but that's not saying much. She's much better than Monica, whose only options seem to be "nag Kayce" or "give a tumblr lecture," but she's still pretty one-dimensional and her motivations are often bizarre or cartoonish, sometimes as a result of being revealed way too long after the fact.
