- Every blaster shot misses him when he's repairing the Queen's ship.
- He was the copilot on the ship the destroyed the Trade Federation ship, infiltrated General Grievous's ship, destroyed the Death Star, escaped the Imperial blockade of Hoth, escaped the destruction of the second Death Star, and took out all of the gun turrets on that ship in TLJ.
- He flew through that droid factory in AOTC during a battle without a scratch.
- He gets into every single room and controls every computer he wants to.
- He slid around in that crashing ship at the beginning of ROTS without a scratch.
- He hibernated when Luke cut himself off from the Force.
- He got that monster on Dagobah to spit him out.
- Stuff from the Clone Wars that I've forgotten.
Since R2D2, Force-sensitive droid, has been part of my head cannon for a long time, and midochlorians have never gotten into my head cannon, I've had to chew on this.
We have microscopic organisms that we use to control oil spills, so oil does not mean an absence of life. And Star Wars has space whales, which seem to thrive in a much more inhospitable environment then droid oil. Therefore, I don't think it's inconceivable that a droid could have midochlorians in their body.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

For the fun of addressing ep's question of whether I am cannon ... that is my souvenir from Batuu, which is absolutely cannon, so yes, R2D2 has oil.
Oooh interesting. This whole time I have been seriously wondering if there is any evidence at all that droids use oil in SW. Because I don't remember seeing it out reading about it one way or another.
Also, midichlorians are themselves organisms that live within a host. They're a symbiot. They themselves have no barring on whether or not someone is Force sensitive.
