Charging for a Blue check is less capricious than the current system. It stopped being a system to prevent impersonation quite a while ago.

Seems like the most obvious fix is to just have a verification system for people who want to be verified, and yes, that means that if Hitler were alive today, he could get verified.

Only verifying celebrities and politicians that mysterious figures deem worthy was fucking stupid. And sinister.
