It’s incredibly rewatchable. I like it way better than Foxcatcher though regardless
I’ll try now. Seen it once years ago. First rewatch starting now.

Wife quickly lost interest, but I’m enjoying it.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

No, baseball is a nothing sport here. American Football barely exists on a national or even Northern European level, but at least the NFL is popular, and the Superbowl is a popular tv event. Most other sports that are big in North America are big here as well.

There isn’t a single baseball team in Norway, there is nothing about baseball in the news, and the MLB is barely shown on minor cable sports channels.

What's great about this movie is that it also works as a story about entrepreneurship.

I have The Descendants playing in the background now. It borders on “love this movie” territory.

baseball is so engrained in the culture of our people I wonder if it boosted the enjoyment level for me and my kind. It's a great movie for sure, despite that. But like, a movie like Bend it Like Beckham never really crossed mine and my peoples' radar because, ya know, soccer is stupid. And I'm sure that's probably a good one too. Surely no Bennett Miller joint, though.

Maybe ask your wife for me if she wasn't interested because she thinks baseball is stupid and boring

She’s asleep now. As for baseball, I don’t think she even has an opinion it. Never seen a game. But she very quickly lost interest in the movie, although she was here for the first twenty minutes.

Movie is over now. I enjoyed it. I love sports anyway.

I agree that the movie is only about sports in a superficial way. But maybe some people are so turned off by baseball that they can’t go any deeper.
