Good to very good. Michelle Williams is a revelation. Paul Dano is a bit of a let down but I'm not sure that's totally his fault. The kids are really good. Best thing Seth Rogen has ever doneAnders wrote:How was this?epilogue wrote:About to go see Fablemans.
Wanted a little more magic from it. For a guy known for being emotional in his filmmaking, to the point that some say he's manipulative, and given the personal, semi-autobiographical nature of the piece, the movie was surprising straightforward and detached.
Great little treat toward the end that I loved.

Thank you. It sounds interesting, even if your review was not glowing. Look forward to seeing it.epilogue wrote:Good to very good. Michelle Williams is a revelation. Thought it was really good. It’s colorful, yet dark, filled with both happiness and despair, excellent script and some great performances by the cast.epilogue wrote:Still haven't seen this!Anders wrote:Spring Breakers

I'm interested to see what some of RM's bigger Spielberg fans think of it.Anders wrote:Thank you. It sounds interesting, even if your review was not glowing. "Barbarian"
This thing's got layers and pulls it off in a way that respects the viewer and genre.

This is pretty poor. Out of the 70+ movies I’ll watch for this 2012-watch, this is a candidate for the worst one.Anders wrote:Wrath Of The Titans

I had no interest in this when I first saw the trailer but I keep hearing such great things about it. I'm gonna have to check it out.Bi_3 wrote:"Barbarian"

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I suspect you'll like it. No spoilers, but they managed to hit the sweet spot with weaving social allegory throughout the story so that it builds up the characters and events to give a perspective to experiences many horror film fans don't/won't/can't understand and it's done in a way that doesn't patronize or punch down but still elicits that 'oh, i get it now' moment.

Sure. Was out all day yesterday, and a couple of hours this morning. Having a relaxing Sunday at home, watching movies.tragabigzanda wrote:Anders you know there’s a beautiful world out there right
