Actually cool for an artist working at that level to care about their work and stand by their convictions, I think. IIRC she left Thor 2 for similar reasons. I respect it.

This would be an easier argument to make if WW84 wasn't so atrocious though

I guess. I'm not sure my way or the highway indicates a greater sense of caring. I agree she shouldn't work on projects she doesn't like if that's an option for her.

After that giant turd of a movie she made with WW1984, she needs to calmly look at those notes.

Even maybe beg for notes.

You're only as good as your last project. She used her clout off of the first Wonder Woman to make the movie she wanted in WW2. It underperformed. Some of that wasn't her fault so I can see where she's coming from but if Avatar 2 underperforms even James Cameron will loose some of that big dick energy and have to deal with notes on the next one. Probably something like cut 30 mins and forget about 4 and 5. He'd love that. :D

Ever watch Hollywoodland? He plays George Reeves, the actor who played Superman in the 50s

Gunn and his buddy (Safran?) did inherit a mess and digging out of it will be almost impossible. To be fair Cavil announced he was back they didn't. I guess they are going full reboot which will probably be easier and cheaper from a talent cost perspective. Still that means Shazam, Aquaman and Flash will basically be DOA. I guess whatever they make will be better than nothing. What does this means for Matt Reaves? I know the word is he's safe but...are they really going to introduce another youngish Batman in The Gunn universe at the same time as Pattinson? I wonder if quietly The Batman 2 never happens.

Cavill claims WB "told him to announce his return"; if true, I'd be pretty fucking peeved if I was him.

I very much doubt they touch Matt Reeves's Batman series, it's part of their "prestige" line along with The Joker. I think it'll stay fully removed from the Marvel-like expanded universe they wanna build. But who knows.

Aquaman, Shazam, and The Flash are safe because they're basically done (and unlike Batwoman, they weren't cheaply made and easily disposable), but yeah it does look like everything aside from those is entering reboot city. It'll be funny if we get an announcement that The Rock isn't coming back as Black Adam, lol.

I've said this before, but I really really want an in-depth, comprehensive book about the DCEU clusterfuck. Everything about it has been so messy, starting way back with the "Man of Steel killing Zod" controversy, the Batfleck casting, all the Zack Snyder drama, the Ray Fisher stuff, Joss Whedon being a creep, the Batwoman cancelation, the bizarre Ezra Miller saga... it's fascinating to me
