I bored the old board with my hedonistic musings enough, but I had an incredibly spiritual experience with DOTU. LSD may or may not have been involved.

im more surprised to see Get on snake there...they have already played BDS in this tour.
Another thing that amazes me are the closers..really good choices, and i like how they dont need to finish a show with a high note celebration song.
I guess im too used to PJ live sets.

Really starting to look forward to my three shows next week. I'm crossing my fingers on hearing "Limo Wreck".
That would be so freaking epic...

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
I just want to throw a song out there because I haven't seen it mentioned on a mix.
Cold Bitch
I never leave it out of a Soundgarden mix.

A year or so ago I would have said no way Chris could sing Cold Bitch live but after how great he's sounded lately nothing would surprise me.

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
I'm VERY excited - and I love both those songs and hope they play both. Portland and both Seattle shows. With the setlist variety of this tour I think I'll get three completely different shows. They also have 4 days off before the show, which I hope they use to rest and work up a few new songs for the end of the tour. Like, say, "Limo Wreck".VinylGuy wrote:3 shows? wow.matt reeder wrote:They've played that song a few times each tour since the reunion began.VinylGuy wrote:yeah i know.Birds in Hell wrote:Oh, have they? Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
saw soundgarden at the orpheum in minneapolis on saturday.
i was originally going to see soundgarden in 96 somewhere in iowa for lollapalooza, but i got a really good summer job and didn't have the sack to ask for time off. i figured i'd catch them next time. i guess i did, but i had no idea it would be an almost two decade wait.
i tried to get tickets with the soundgarden presale, the publice presale, and the general onsale. i had one shot at last row in the balcony. i wasn't going to see soundgarden like that after waiting so long. the day after the general sale, i bought a pair of 3rd row orchestra pit seats from a dude on craigslist. we met in a super america parking lot. he gave me 2 tickets and i gave him $420. that's a lot of money for me, by the way. it changed the way i lived for a little while.
fast forward to this past saturday. my wife (who wants to suck cornell's dick) and i (who probably wouldn't fight it) arrived at the orpheum at 7:40 for an 8 o'clock show. after the relief of our tickets scanning as legitimate, we walked down to the pit. there were no chairs. the security guard told us the band asked that they be removed. there were only a handful of people in the pit, so we just walked up to the center of the stage, leaned against it, and waited.
i can't explain how amazing the show was. pearl jam, july 9, 1995, was my first concert. i had just graduated from high school. i was seeing a band that meant more to me at that time than anything else, period. the ten club set me up with 4th row seats. it made me a fan for life and ruined me at the same time. it's sort of like i've been chasing that dragon ever since. if ed called me and asked me to write the setlist for wrigley, it wouldn't top that night. nothing has come close since. until saturday night. i guess a major part of it is i've been in bed with these songs for almost 20 years. these are real relationships. but it turns out, it was like i had been fucking a gorgeous woman who never took her bra off. to see and hear them live after all this time is truly indescribable. superunknown is my favorite sg album. i love it from front to back, but there are 3 songs i hold above all others: superunknown, let me drown, and the day i tried to live. they played all of them. and they finished the show with slaves and bulldozers, which is my favorite sg song on any album. cornell sounded phenomenal. and at one point, he was playing his guitar directly above me. i have some iphone photos to prove it, though i have no idea how to share them here.
on sunday morning i woke up, and my ears were still ringing, and it made me happy. i didn't just dream that shit. honestly, if i never see another concert again in my life, i'm good.

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
Awesome video of McCready rocking Tighter and Tighter. Always my favorite from Down on the Upside. McCready was super into it and it seemed to pump KT up too. It's so cool how much these guys love and appreciate each other. I know the point was made in PJ20 about how close the guys in the scene were from the start. It is awesome to see all these years later.
