1994-2002: Increasingly distanced from it

2006: Trying to join in, but not willing to compromise some things (guitar tones, etc.)

2009-2013: Completely lost in the crowd

Matt is definitely a more technically exact drummer than Jack was, but Binaural and Riot Act certainly showcased that light processing could reveal a very organic feel and light imperfection to his playing. The last few albums, that's been revoked in favor of robotic control.

Less so on S/T, but yep. Matt's playing is good on Backspacer and is good here, but my favourite Matt records were Binaural and Riot Act, no doubt about it.
