This album is really enjoyable. I don't know where it'll place years from now, but I'm really into it right now. And, quite frankly, I don't really care where it places. There's a solid core of songs here that will keep me coming back to it.

This lady clearly got confused by the notes she jotted down during one listen while washing the dishes (and listening to Nirvana on headphones). Yellow Moon = Prog Lite? SBM = Jangle Pop?

I imagine that Boom is absolutely full of brilliant ideas about how this band could move forward and grow old gracefully, while still maintaining a modicum of respect and selling records. He just doesn't get asked. One day, he will, and they'll be all like "Boom, why the fuck didn't you tell us we should do this before?" and he'll be all like "You never asked. Smoke?"evenslow wrote:Guys, I do the hard work so you don't have to:
Matt - 50
Jeff - 50
Ed - 48
Mike - 47
Stone - 47
Boom - 89

I'm beginning to hate the word "jangle" like Stip dislikes the word "cringe" and... what else was it? Ah well. "Jangle" is just a word people use when they don't like folk or country. I can see describing Yellow Moon as prog lite. I hear a little "Shine On..." by Floyd in there, without the necessary hamming up.evenslow wrote:This lady clearly got confused by the notes she jotted down during one listen while washing the dishes (and listening to Nirvana on headphones). Aw shit....I had the album playing and actually enjoyed Future Days. Like really enjoyed it. Not Pendulum enjoyed it mind you. But still.

You're right. I failed to mention - there's one obnoxious clink of the ride cymbal that has my future self on the fence if it'll place above one of these albums or not.McParadigm wrote:This is still a very mediocre rimming.EJ wrote:Sorry, it will place somewhere. Re: Lightning Bolt: The Official Album Thread
That happened to me too. There's absolutely too much going on, but I can't decide whether that's because there's so much going on, or that there's less going on on other tracks, which makes FD sound so much more ridiculous. It's a bit of both. But FD is a pretty nice song and it's schmaltzy but it's pretty.sward wrote:Aw shit....I had the album playing and actually enjoyed Future Days. Like really enjoyed it.
