Fair. I just think “drama” is too broad. Especially if you’re explaining the differences between the two seasons

But this is also why I hate having to break things down into sub-genres.

I liked Aubrey Plaza in season two but I feel like it was a slightly miscast. I think I would’ve preferred her as Cameron’s wife, that would’ve been interesting. She just seems to have too much presence to be so timid. But maybe that’s because I just saw her in that one heist movie that she was so good in

I didn't read her as timid

Yeah maybe that’s the wrong word. Her character just didn’t seem to have enough power over the other characters or something. It just didn’t seem like a good fit for her

Well she is often reluctant to speak her mind and seems to be kind of ambivalent about a lot of things. I guess I just like her so much that I wanted to see her steal the show more

Ambivalence is nuanced af. Playing ambivalence is difficult. And given her circumstance I fee like ambivalence is pretty fucking appropriate.

The character wasn’t boring. I just feel as Cameron’s wife she would’ve been more interesting. I like when she has a badass, evilish flavor

I’d argue she had the most power out of the entire cast. She knows the score, her place in it, and how to make the most of it to get what she wants. She’s under no illusions.

The creator literally wrote the part for Aubrey Plaza.

Oh Jesus Christ

Anyway, from the AV Club

“Mike White really wrote that part for me, it wasn’t a part that was written and then I went and auditioned for it and said, ‘That’s the part I want,’” Plaza says in a new interview with Backstage. “He wrote it for me, so there’s a lot of me in that part.”
