Started White Noise last night, and finished it a few minutes ago.

It's not terrible, but it was weird, which I fully expected.

About to start Heat.

We started this last night. Sometimes we have to watch movies in chunks, and this one we'll likely finish tonight.

This is one of those movies I'm seeing for the first time, and I have to say...I'm disappointed it's taken me so long to watch it. It's very good. A couple of lulls and/or needless moments, but overall a great flick. Can't wait to finish it.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Watched Everything Everywhere All at Once last night. Was kind of irritated by the movie about halfway through, but by the end I was actually crying by how poignant, moving it was. Kind of an incredible movie. Whoever wrote it was definitely on drugs. Kind of surprised it got made.

i liked it enough, but it was just too long and eventually i got bored with the idea of the multiple universes and storylines. I think its more of the cool movie everyone wants to love but not an actually good movie.

Do not open until after you're done watching:
Spoiler: show
I get why people break the movie up, but I feel like the tension release doesn't quite happen the same as when you watch it in one sitting.

okay, we finished it this evening. i totally get what you mean, and i completely expected more from the ending, and watching it the way we did...i guess i get what i deserve. i still enjoyed it. the last big action sequence before they went their separate ways was wild and well done.

what became of Chris?

Glad you liked it. You are 1 for 2 in your assessment of widely recognized masterpieces

it's been a few days since i made those comments about The Godfather, and I'm willing to admit I went into that one with high expectations, and that's on me. I went into Heat with zero expectations, and I enjoyed it. Go figure.

I'm going to take some time--who knows how long--and try to watch The Godfather again.

that's another one of those that my wife and I have never seen, but it's on our list. It's also one of those that I've heard glowing reviews of and will go in with no expectations.

I'll definitely post about it when we do get to it.
