About to start Heat.

We started this last night. Sometimes we have to watch movies in chunks, and this one we'll likely finish tonight.

This is one of those movies I'm seeing for the first time, and I have to say...I'm disappointed it's taken me so long to watch it. It's very good. A couple of lulls and/or needless moments, but overall a great flick. Can't wait to finish it.

I get why people break the movie up, but I feel like the tension release doesn't quite happen the same as when you watch it in one sitting.

okay, we finished it this evening. i totally get what you mean, and i completely expected more from the ending, and watching it the way we did...i guess i get what i deserve. i still enjoyed it. the last big action sequence before they went their separate ways was wild and well done.

what became of Chris?

Chris escapes but it’s planning to come back for his family. The book jumps from 1995 to 1988 were we see how he meets his wife. It’s will also go forward until the 2000s

I haven't seen it in a long while but it was never one of my favorites

I saw it first as a teen, and then probably three or four times in my twenties. I got a lot out of it and certain images stuck with me strongly, but I wouldn't have put it in a top tier. In 2018 I think, about then, I saw it on the big screen and that's when it really got to a new level for me.

It's playing at the cinema around here soon, as are a handful of other Kubrick movies. Not at the most beautiful, technically impressive theatre, but even still. I'm going to try to go see 2001 and Barry Lyndon (which I've only seen once, if you can believe it).
