that is an absolute consensus. The only person who is not entirely sure yet is me.

That says more about your opinion of backspacer than it does anything about lightning bolt.
that may be. But backspacer is my number 4, by more than a little bit. So I can't just go throwing around 4 rankings like it's everybody's business.
Are we definitely sure that you have the same Binaural and Yield as the rest of us?
In stip's head, those albums sound like this:

guys, I'm sorry, but thin air just isn't a very romantic song

Yeah, I agree with that; romance isn't the first thing I think of when I hear it. It's a romantic song trying to sound "cool" so failing to sound romantic.

Stip's record store guy has been laughing for the last 15 years, every time he sees stip, he is reminded that he slipped Days of the New into a couple Pearl Jam sleeves. He is continually amazed that the young professor has not caught on to this day.
i like a few days of the new songs, actually.

Has this been ripped from itunes yet? I'm not asking for links by the way mods, just wondering if it is out there. My rip had skips in it for some reason.

I don't hate them. Keep in mind I haven't heard one in probably a decade

As I go through this album, I find myself really looking forward to my favourite songs coming up. That's a feeling I haven't had about PJ since Riot Act.

There's no way RM can talk that much, that fast, about an album that exists.

Didn't Days of the New have that moronic song about a shelf?

Future Days is a nice, pretty song. Let it be.

Holy shit does SBM sound out of place on this album. But fuck me if I didn't hit repeat on that song on the way into work today.

They should have named this album "Pearl Jam Random Mix Tape 2010-2013". So far I like the pieces much more than the whole.

The fact that it's not much of an album make it easy to keep the songs I like and delete the crappy ones from my harddrive.

I can't wait to hear the proper version from the actual CD or vinyl. This itunes rip/stream fucking sucks and sounds horrible next to the real versions we have of MYM and Sirens. I've really been enjoying LB but I've decided to not listen anymore until a "real" version becomes 'available' or until I have the CD in my hands. Oh and still not digging Future Days at all, but the rest is quite good folks.

This is my verdict. The songs on the album rank from good to great, but I finally have to accept that the production is the main problem here. I simply can not believe that Brendan O´Brien is the same guy that produced Vitalogy or No Code, although you can see the beginning of the problem, whether you like or not, in Yield (strangely enough, my favorite record) Yes, just listen to that album and you´ll see. I´m an album kind of person, not so much a bootleg one, but for the first time I think that I´ll enjoy more the live renditions of the songs rather than the album´s. I´m a little sad and frustrated cause this could have been a beast of an album, but it´s ultimately neutered thanks to the inappropriate production. It simply lacks balls. Everything sounds so fucking thin and pretty. Arghh. Really, this guy is doing some pretty good permanent damage to the band.

streamed album for wife last night.

On her first listen.

She felt that sleeping by myself sounded desperate and lame... Felt the lyrics were describing some wimp guy who stays with someone who cheats. I lol'd
She didn't like Infallible.. She felt it was too happy in the middle.. I chalk this up to one time listening..
She completely hated My Fathers Son.... throw it out were her words.... she was confused by the happy circus music in the middle.
She said her favorite track was let the records play.... I was like really? shes said i like bluesy stuff...... lol
mind your manners - she said controlled chaos..

I find it interesting to hear opinions on the album from someone who is a very casual pj fan.. More of a eddie vedder into the wild fan...
We both sat in the same conditions and listened and both heard two different albums for the most part. Is that a good thing?
She also loved backspacer on first listen... I feel the rage from everyone after saying that. LOL

The rage, if there is any, will be inspired by LTRP being her favourite song despite all those other criticisms.
