I enjoyed it. Guillermo del Toro is excellent at making his movies look great. Don’t think it could have looked better, if it was made in 2022-23.BurtReynolds wrote:I need to watch this again.tragabigzanda wrote:Hell yesAnders wrote:Pacific Rim

Pacific Rim is still one of my favorite theatre experiences.
The way they convey the massive scale of those things is impressive. They're genuinely intimidating.

One thing about The Menu: they charge $1,250 a head, and seemingly only have one service a day, for approximately 12 people each service. That's only $15,000 a day, which seems like it is way low. He should be charging a lot more, right?
I feel like if some of those rich people went out to dinner in New York they'd spend nearly that much anyway, and then when they left they'd be replaced by another group ready to spend and another and another.

A lot of people complained about it being too dark or too campy, but it worked for me.Farmer John wrote:Pacific Rim is still one of my favorite theatre experiences.

If we praise Pacific Rim hard enough, do you think Ruddo will come back?

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I looked at Resurrection, because of the recent VG/Jorge enthusiasm. I'd forgotten that this was the movie that was filmed in my home city. So I spent a good chunk of the movie just giggling that I recognized locations. I even recognized an extra, haha. He was in focus and sitting next to Rebecca Hall at some lecture so my brain told me he was about to be an important character, since I recognized him. Then I remembered that he's the guy who runs local trivia games and gives tours and whatnot.
It's an odd feeling.

Just watched Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Holy shit, that was the most fun I’ve had watching a movie in a long time. Absolutely loved it.
