Johnny Rebel always got slighty above average reviews in this magazine

Is that the most amount of Ks one can receive?
3 Ks would be a big no-no here in the US of 'merica.

My wife loves Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and the Flaming Lips.

For Pearl Jam, she pretty much just likes Vitalogy and Yield, I think, plus three or four songs off Riot Act. When I tried to play this one over the speakers at home she turned off the sound when it got to Sirens and asked what the hell was wrong with me.

Man, I love her.

But wow, it sounds like the British press isn't even listening to this thing.
It's typical NME review. Kurt didn't like Pearl Jam so neither do we. Opinion is made before even listening I think. It's bad journalism. I don't care if they like it or not but if they would actaully critique the album it would help.

They did improve. Yield, Binaural and Riot Act scored well if I remember correctly and were actually properly reviewed but it looks like we are back to the Pearl Jam are shit and Eddie is a whiner reviews.

Getaway still feels like is either too fast or too slow. It''s not a bad song, something just feels... off

We won't have to wait long to hear how it sounds faster...

Ed picked a fight with NME in finsbury park in 1992.

NME have had it in for Pj ever since

they said it was a possible album of the year. So presumably they don't go to 11k

Yeah I was referring to the Kerrang one as much as the NME one. The NME's rating of 4 is one thing, but 5 K's from Kerrang is equally ridiculous, however flattering. They've been waiting for 23 years to make *this* record? WTF? Even Stone said "more of the same".

I do like Mind Your Manners a fair amount. I kinda wish they had built a whole song around the opening riff.. and up until now, i thought it was also the closing riff. I guess I just watched the youtube version with the little ad at the end. I just thought there was a cool pause, back into that riff.

Yep, you sound very much like an "us against the world" couple.
