What does she normally listen to? Admittedly I liked The Fixer the first time I heard it, but yeah the lyrics are not so good. Seems to go over well live though from what I've seen.

Yeah, that's definitely where it needs to go, but I'm so tired of the acoustic interludes to start encores. It would be different if more songs were mixed in, but I have to believe that the only ones that will be in the rotation will be Just Breathe, The End, and now Future Days. Eddie could make that portion of shows far more interesting if he wanted to, but I guess we kind of know by now that he doesn't really want to.

Agree, first time I heard Pendulum it had opener written all over it. Of the ones I've seen personally, I love the slow burning openers a la Hard To Imagine and/or Of The Girl

I was at Wrigley and I don't think at all it sucked the life out of the show. I'm actually a minority here in that I like the song, but at Wrigley no one had heard it but it got a strong reaction I thought. That is really hard to do in a stadium, but I think anytime you've something that has a sing songy melody using his deep register, and it's quite enough to put a little extra emphasis on his voice, people pay attention in the live setting. It held everyone's attention where I was at and got a good applause.

I was at Wrigley as well, and consider the Future Days- Mother opening to the encore to be possibly the low point of the thirty or so shows I've seen. I would've rather sat through Ed's 19 minute speech before Last Kiss at Camden I 2006 again. Thankfully Crown of Thorns followed it and was majestic.

The crowd was completely dead for that entire song from where I was at Wrigley. No one was listening. Granted, I don't think that was entirely due to the song; people had been there for 6 or 7 hours, it was 1:30 in the morning or whatever it was, it was a song no one had heard before. But the song didn't help matters.

It certainly can't be the trainwreck it was last time if they play it live again. It's nice enough on the record, but for reasons that I don't think can be replicated on stage.
