Fair. For me, it was TWD that killed zombie stories when
never watched another episode after that. Only Train to Busan has felt interesting since then (and Anna and The Apocalypse, but obviously that's a different genre).

**I have not played the game so no spoilers please**
What I'm hoping for is Station Eleven with zombies.

I do have mild concerns about production values and directing but this was still a solid start. (A nitpick: the “big event” that closes out the prologue needed another beat or two before the time card came up. Let the audience sit with what happened and then wallop them with the time jump.)

Agree. There were a couple spots where we jumped in mid-action, but it wasnt jarring just a second or two to reorient. Overall fantastic start with Pedro crushing it.

I think I'm the only one on the internet who wasn't feeling it. I'll give the next few episodes a chance though. Pascal was great but Ramsey as Ellie is just not doing it for me...not yet anyway...

Have you ever watched a person unfamiliar with dual analog sticks navigate a 3D space? Horrifying.
Lol. I’m familiar with them and it’s still horrifying.
I don’t know the story, never played the game, but episode one was very entertaining. I loved it, tho I am a sucker for anything dystopia and zombies/monsters of any kind.

A few of the reviews I read mentioned the series gets better as it goes along. Hope it sticks with you.

Yeah, don't want to over-hype it so that it cannot live up to expectations, but this is the first series in a while that has gone up on Rotten Tomatoes after the premiere.

Kind of took me out of that scene for a bit! I thought that exposition worked pretty well. Wonder how that scientist's research will come back into play down the line.

spot on. This is my older brother to a tee. Trying to make him a convert on TLOU since he's got a brand new PS5 but he's pretty much only into racing games...from the PS2 era. Starting to question his purchase decision
