More like "what's left of their range"

Am I right? Amiright? :P

I actually think their range is pretty broad. Wether you like what is in their range is a different thing.

But wow, it sounds like the British press isn't even listening to this thing.
It's typical NME review. Kurt didn't like Pearl Jam so neither do we. Opinion is made before even listening I think. It's bad journalism. I don't care if they like it or not but if they would actaully critique the album it would help.

They did improve. Yield, Binaural and Riot Act scored well if I remember correctly and were actually properly reviewed but it looks like we are back to the Pearl Jam are shit and Eddie is a whiner reviews.
Yeah I was referring to the Kerrang one as much as the NME one. The NME's rating of 4 is one thing, but 5 K's from Kerrang is equally ridiculous, however flattering. They've been waiting for 23 years to make *this* record? WTF? Even Stone said "more of the same".
Stone is too humble.

I totally agree. He's a great guy, I like him a lot. And I think he meant that the recording process was the same, not the actual album

Musically it's spectacular. And though Eddie certainly doesn't ruin it (that would be nearly impossible), the "ah-ah-ah-ah" at the end are the most affecting and effective vocals in there. Wish they'd let it be mostly an instrumental piece, have Eddie throw out just one or two strange, haunting lines, and then go into the ah-ah-ah-ahs through the end.
But it will be awkward to be in a crowd with everybody singing along to this. Or just funny. :haha:

It makes me sad that I will probably have to remove my other harmless quote to make room for it in mine though.

I think he was also just talking about how every single album by every single band is marketed as a 'return to form' or a 'breakthrough', 'the album of their careers,' etc. Not that Lightning Bolt is necessarily a lesser step than their other records; it's just the next step.

There are at least three songs that literally give me goosebumps. My body confirms that I love this album :heartbeat:
