Weakest link in great bands
Who are some members of otherwise great bands that are not quite up to par with everyone else?

For Radiohead I thought it was widely agreed to be their drummer, whatever his name isChris_H_2 wrote:ed o'brien - radiohead

It’s hard to quantify really because someone who may not be an instrumental powerhouse might be the creative force. Dave Matthews comes to mind. He’s got great guys all around him, plays a good enough rhythm and vocals match the music but it’s sort of Kermit-like. He’s the weakest link in terms of pure musicianship, but obviously a centerpiece creatively.

Re: Weakest link in great bands
I thought of Dave, but asked my self what would the band be without him. I arrived at a much different answer than my front men.. I mean anyone almost improves The Peppers or Jane for me.liebzz wrote:It’s hard to quantify really because someone who may not be an instrumental powerhouse might be the creative force. Yeah like most of my OB threads this is more a kicking off point for talking about music than any type of academic analysisliebzz wrote:It’s hard to quantify really because someone who may not be an instrumental powerhouse might be the creative force. Farrell sure gave Janes attention. He was super weird and also had a very personal voice.

Outside of Boom, who’s the current weakest link? Matt or Stone?Farmer John wrote:I'm going to be nice and not say Boom.
