Yeah but there are plenty of movies like that which are at least praised by critics. What's different about this one?

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

There aren’t really any likeable characters, and none of them are very fleshed out at all. Plus, there isn’t much there as as far as “plot” goes. It’s all spectacle.

Also, the comedy is very broad and wacky, and it doesn’t always work. But man, I couldn’t look away.

When you consider the meteoric rise and tragic downfall of Bam Margera, then it actually is quite a bit like Jackass.

My review on RM mentioned that Babylon's humor was very similar to that of Jackass (and Triangle of Sadness), but not actually that funny

Ingrid Goes West. Everyone is Ingrid, but Ingrid sucks the most at being Ingrid. Poignant and funny. 8/10 hashtags.

Olivia Hamilton was outstanding in Babylon. I had no idea who she even was, let alone that she was married to the bloody director!

She's awesome. Great energy.
