It feels like we're in the midst of a "Fixenaissance".
We are desperate for something PJ to talk about.

Trag was very considerate to open his ratings with such a horrendous take, so that we all know it's not to be taken seriously.

The most I've ever loved The Fixer was listening to that garbled recording through a brick wall that made the rounds before it was released. I honestly thought it sounded amazing.

in defense of trag, i think a lot of people's judgments about gigaton are clouded by recency bias, the fact that the album before it was just sooooo bad, and the passage of time between it and backspacer.

If anyone is still responding to Gigaton in the context of Lightning Bolt, then sure. But we've had it for almost three years now, so that's probably not the case. It's also far beyond "new album glow" territory, too.

The Fixer has pretty much always been a skipper for me

I really like it, and specially in the context of the album, those first 4 tracks are good and fun, but the first 4 on gigaton are on a different league.

The one released song they decided to leave off Gigaton is better than anything on Lightning Bolt.
