Writing that post there was a period of like 5 minutes where I was just sitting here in front of the computer just staring at the screen because I couldn't remember the name of the band and kept wanting to call them Big Killers until it finally came to me

Wait are you not getting the Grados anymore?!
i'm going to get cans for in the house, maybe travel too.

one of my BiL's is talking up: audio-technica ath-m50x, Sennheiser had 280 pros

he called the grado labs sr60x a third party sennheiser.
Hey I love the Audio Technica M50xs, they are my go-to use-out-in-the-world headphones. I have both the regular version and the second edition of the Bluetooth model, which are both great. But I didn't recommend them because we had been talking about price points and those are all over $130 usually.

Also, they are EXTREMELY different from the Grados. The Grados cans are open-back and they have a "spacious" sound that gives a lot of room to the sound, like you're sitting at a show with the band in front of you (I believe it was my comment about listening to the new Big Thief album that spawned this whole conversation). The Audio Technicas aren't just closed back, they're especially bassy! Not in a bad, Beats kind of way, but the bass is certainly more prominent than in the average set of cans.
i would love to be sitting at a show in my living room.

I said spacious sound that gives room to the sound, that's awful. I'm sorry everyone, I'm very tired

I have the wired ones in the studio and they’re pretty good. Not quite as good as my Sennheiser DT770s but that maybe just what I’m used to.

I can get the orange ones $50 cheaper than the black but I still think the black is better.

I got the orange ones because I already have the wired ones in black and like the variety. They look good

I feel too conservative to go the orange. And they're a tax deduction so the extra $$s doesn't bother me.

btw thanks Jorge.

Can anyone recommend a tasty pair of bluetooth headphones with mic? not gaming, they're for my wife for meetings.

For solely functional purposes like meetings and exercises, I’m happy with my JLabs Air Sports

I love my Sennheiser PXC 550-IIs. Maybe a little too tasty, though.
