Indeed. Movie 43 always looked awful to me.

I just started Side Effects because it's the only remotely interesting thing I could find to watch on Netflix. Credits rolled and now I realize it's directed by Steven Soderbergh
Something tells me at least this won't be the same style of movie as the Oceans.. so I'm going to give it a chance

So far I admire his restraint. But the story is kinda lame.tree_ wrote:I just started Side Effects because it's the only remotely interesting thing I could find to watch on Netflix. Credits rolled and now I realize it's directed by Steven Soderbergh

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

you're just angry at David O' cause he could go from an insane marvel like Huckabees to a generic Scorcese-PTAnderson mutt without so much as a shred of shametragabigzanda wrote:It makes me angry how much Anders enjoys stupid American hustle

I rewatched it a couple of months ago. Yeah, a lot of great moments in this movie, a lot about it to enjoy. Fun how we got that and Wolf of Wall Street, two very excessive and thematically linked movies, in the same yearAnders wrote:This movie is wonderful. Very underrated.Anders wrote:American Hustle

With garish colors, delightfully chintzy production design, great performances, great music, some really chaotic script choices. It's a good timeEllo Sailor wrote:Pretty much my thoughts. Maybe a 7.5/10. Tells a story.VinylGuy wrote:American Hustle is good and fun and its very well done.

So what did ya'll think of Joy, then? And Silver Linings Playbook? I think my favorite O. Russell joints are The Fighter and Huckabees

I skipped Joy. I remember strongly disliking Silver Linings Playbook but would be interested in rewatching it

Re: What movies are you watching?
I also haven't seen Joy or 3 Kings. The Fighter was quite good, my only criticism being that I'd rather have someone better in place of that Wahlberg clown. The only movie I've liked him in was Boogie Nights, and I loved him in that. Oh, he's in Huckabees too but it's such a weird movie it doesn't matter.
