Re: The New & Unproved Work/Job/Career Thread
Had two interviews scheduled for the morning. One of them texted me as I was driving in to let me know she’d been in an accident and would need to reschedule. I asked if she was ok and haven’t gotten a response back yet. The other was supposed to be here 10 minutes ago and has been referred to me numerous times by a current employee. I called her a few days ago and we had a good phone screening but then today, nothing.
Nothing like a wasted hour-and-15-minute drive for jack shit.

Now the no-show has called and said she had a flat and had to have it replaced and wants to know if she can come in for the interview. I’ve never heard of so many people having flat tires in my fucking life.

Have her come in for the interview just so you can walk her to her car afterwards and see if one of the tires looks cleaner/newer than the rest.wease wrote:Now the no-show has called and said she had a flat and had to have it replaced and wants to know if she can come in for the interview. Even if she had a flat, the red flag is it sounds like she didn’t bother to call/text you til well after the appt time. Sounds like the kind of employee that’ll call in sick for the day two hours after her start time.

That’s how I’m seeing it. 30 minutes ago when she called, she was 8 minutes away. She just walked in the door. She’s gonna have to be smoking hot at this point.spike wrote:Even if she had a flat, the red flag is it sounds like she didn’t bother to call/text you til well after the appt time.
