Since, I'm apparently going to die after 61 minutes of being mauled by random animals anyhow, I'll choose the buffalo and the rats and hope the hunter shoots me in the head quickly.

Defense- Crocodiles and rats

The hawks may give me some trouble but I think I could hold them off for an hour.

Defense: 1 hunter with rifle and wolves. I'm sure it wouldn't take long for the hunter to kill the bears, lions and gorillas. After that he would take out take crocs and hawks while the wolves would take care of the buffalos and rats.

You gotta take the rats. It's 10,000 rats.

How many shots are in your average rifle? If that hunter pauses to reload before all the big animals are down, you're both toast.

I don't know how effective 10,000 uncoordinated rats is going to be. I guess the other animals might get full from eating them.

The other animals wouldn’t have a chance. Rats are vicious little bastards. And remember, they don’t scurry when something bigger comes their way.

You may well be right. 10,000 rats is hard to conceptualize.

I lean this way. Just the rats is > 100:1 ratio, like a river rushing at the opponents. Only other question is can you stop the hunter from killing you outright... probably not so you gotta take the hunter. Maybe hawks can give enough cover.

I think people are overestimating the effect of 10k rats. A cube of 1k rats seems like it’d be about 3x3’, so you could fit 10k in a small-to-medium sized uhaul, it’s not some endless wave of them. I’d take the hunter and either the buffalo or crocs

I would never trust a crocodile to keep me safe. I wouldn't trust the birds either.
