Of those I only saw 28 Days Later and the sequel. I recall liking the first one better.

Zombieland, maybe?
Evil Dead if we’re including that in the genre?
Even 28 Days Later, a genre masterpiece IMO, is short on character development and long on running.

Train to Busan balances people and speed-zombies, but the development is limited by the run time.

Good BBQ though
Think anyone ever tried dry-rubbing cordyceps?

So many Part Two references in this episode...

A few things are a little too on the nose, but I really enjoy these moments of vulnerability from Joel.

The emotional beats continue to be spot on even when the dialogue/pacing can't quite reach that level.

Spoiler: show
Eh, the whole walled settlement portion was very The Walking Dead. Not overly compelling television.

And how did they allow some bum with a shiv to sneak up on them? They were highly alert at the time and it was in an open-ish field in the middle of the campus. Boo-urns to that.

Nice to finally see the relationship between Joel and Ellie actually shown on the screen instead of proxied through other characters and hopefully this puts to rest Bella critics.

From last night, no game spoiler please as I haven't played it:
Spoiler: show
I did think the flip in Joel's relationship with Tommy happened too fast. I get they only have an hour but we need some foreplay. Lose the hair-cutting scene and beef up the dialogue in the bar.

Also Monkey infected would have been been epic.

Z Nation was the best zombie series before Last of Us arrived. Where’s LV? He’d back me up

I think this would have benefited from a full episode of Henry and Sam and turning over Mike to FEDRA. Would have fleshed out why the rebellion lady was the way she was.

How old was Tommy’s wife/girlfriend when she was an assistant district attorney? It’s been 20 years since the outbreak, she probably is no older than 45 if she just got pregnant (not impossible that she’s a little older, but the actress is 44). Did she graduate law school and rise in the ranks at the DA’s office by the time she was 25?

Maybe she was just a clerk and lied on her Jackson City Council resume.

Sam and Henry moved me more than Bill and Frank. That's probably why I'm so upset

Same, but I think what they did with Bill and Frank set up the subtle depth of the Henry and Sam story. Bill's acceptance vs Henry's perseverance and the sacrifices they both made for love have deep echos of modern American culture.
Good point. That's probably true for me too, actually.
