Maybe the whole movie is a different timeline since Cassie is a different person.

Today I remembered that scene where Cassie and Ant Man are both in giant form and they say "we're giants!" but there is nothing else on screen for scale or reference so it just looks like two normal sized people standing in front of each other talking about how big they are

I think that might’ve been the point? I recall thinking in the build to that moment it was only hinted that she went giant cuz before she was only shrinking?Jorge wrote:Today I remembered that scene where Cassie and Ant Man are both in giant form and they say "we're giants!" but there is nothing else on screen for scale or reference so it just looks like two normal sized people standing in front of each other talking about how big they are

No, not at all. This moment happens after we see her go giant, which is itself treated as a big moment because she tells herself "I hope this works" or something to that effect and then she grows and punches Modok victoriously. It's just bad visual storytelling; having no frame of reference when you're surrounded by that nondescript CGI backdrop neuters the shot. It's also a missed opportunity for a gag, IMO (it would've been funny if Giant Cassie was somehow a head or two taller than Giant Ant Man)Mecca wrote:I think that might’ve been the point? Or immediately after that line something even bigger walks into frame.Jorge wrote:No, not at all. Just saw this in IMAX 3D, and the effects were great. No complaints there.
Yes, some of the dialogue was bad and the "let's stop in the middle of something serious to be funny" got old fast. Kang was excellent. Intimidating and charismatic.
The 1000yr old ants...stupid concept but looked awesome when coming in for the save.
I actually didn't mind Bill Murray. He clowned around at first but there was an undeniable anger under all of it.
I really dug the hand to hand with Scott and Kang at the end for some reason. Scott held his own for a bit.
Liked it better than BP2 but there was lots of room for improvement.
And I'm glad MODOK brought up Hope's hair. Fuckin travesty.
And the post credits....

My only problem with Murray is that there was no plot movement in that scene. A 2.5 hour movie doesn't need to stop for a fun cameo.

Especially for a character that was a one-off in the comicsB wrote:My only problem with Murray is that there was no plot movement in that scene. A 2.5 hour movie doesn't need to stop for a fun cameo.

He was awful. His character and his performance.
This thing had a monumental second weekend drop, 82%. That's nuts

This is the first movie in phase 5? What was the last thing for phase 4? Was there a theme? Do phases mean anything? Is it just a business thing?
