Reworkings of previous songs.

I’m up for it.

Songs of surrender.
Bono was promoting his book, which by the way, seems to be really cool i gave it to my girl as a present and she is hooked, and said that that third album was ditched and wanted to do a rock and roll type of album, whatever that means for U2 at this point.
I'm currently listening to the audio book (read by Bono) and it's fantastic - he's a great storyteller and there are snippets of these rerecorded songs (and songs by others where relevant) scattered throughout the chapters :nice:

I am going to listen with an open mind and it could get quite interesting…but this may be the band with an ego big enough to record an album that is essentially cover songs of their own material.

As of today these would be my top 10 U2 tracks

Bad
Desire
Hawkmoon 269
All I Want Is You
Until the End of the World
The Fly
Stay (Far Away,, So Close!)
Gone
Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of
Vertigo

That was extremely difficult.

Electrical storm
Every breaking wave

Pretty sure I was wrong about U2, in that their rhythm section is way better than I originally gave them credit for.

Can I get some recommendations on your fav. Mullen Jr./Clayton performances?

There are many but I’m going to say Discotheque and Mofo are wonderful.

Stay too but that might be the whole band at its finest. No Line On The Horizon is another good one.

I've admittedly not listened to alot of U2 in the last 10 years but was huge into them for years. A quick top 10, and in no particular order...

The Fly
Ultra Violet (Light My Way)
Acrobat
Walk On
Red Hill Mining Town
Bad
Stay (Faraway, So Close)
Zooropa
The Unforgettable Fire
Angel of Harlem

Got to see a few minutes of this. Really really excited to see the whole thing.
More for Dublin and Dave being here than U2 but them too :)

I am just starting the U2 covers album by U2. Not yet impressed. Will keep you updated.

Edit: up to Walk On Ukraine style. Some of these I am enjoying but very little really does much for me. 11:00 Tick Tock and Out of Control are my favorites thus far.

It’s a pity they include so much of the hits but I suppose a band like this are stuck in the position. The more recent tunes and deeper cuts shine here. If god will send his angels, invisible and lights of home show what good song writers they are aside from all the BIGNESS.

Largely the hits aren’t benefited by the strip down but I agree that some of the others work in this context.
