Re: Wrigley Field - July 19
Making only my 2 nd trip to wrigley ever, and I am not a Chicago guy. Can anyone suggest a hotel that is easy (relatively-coming from south) to drive to and with very short walk to the train? I was actually thinking of staying out by o'hare, but just don't know the city well.

Most of the downtown hotels are 30min ride on the red line from Wrigley.TCB13 wrote:Making only my 2 nd trip to wrigley ever, and I am not a Chicago guy. Unless you have the 'been there, done that' attitude about Chicago or a money/schedule thing is pushing you to stay near the airport, you should stay in the city. There's tons to do. If you are going solo, there will be lots of pit-organized PJ themed events you can attend to meet people. Don't let the fact that Chicago is 'Merica's murder capital scare you either. There will be huge crowds that will act like herds of Gazelles to protect you as long as you don't appear sick or weak.

You need to have been a part of a Lakeview Residents Association mailer from the Cubs. They're being mailed a code. With respect to Cubs ticket holders, I believe each code is unique.Fuck You Jobu wrote:Do residents need a special code or just some proof of address?Chris_H_2 wrote:It's tomorrow. Yeah, in my experience, you don't get choice seats in these pre-sales. They're pretty staggered, and usually in the upper reserved.BDB wrote:Chris_H_2 wrote:I heard the resident presale for Bruce were generally pretty bad tickets (terrace/upper box reserved)Fuck You Jobu wrote:Do residents need a special code or just some proof of address?Chris_H_2 wrote:It's tomorrow. Is there a date you need to have been receiving the mailer to be eligible?Chris_H_2 wrote:You need to have been a part of a Lakeview Residents Association mailer from the Cubs. It will be interesting if the band tries to do "local" presales with other media orgs in other cities (and piss a ton of people off). Boston Phoenix maybe?

I think this was all the Cubs doing, and the band absolutely no say in it whatsoever.broken iris wrote:It will be interesting if the band tries to do "local" presales with other media orgs in other cities (and piss a ton of people off). Boston Phoenix maybe?

Ah, the dreaded virtual waiting room. I'm not sure what's worse, this thing with Tickets.com or the 10 Club's lottery system.
