Here's one of my absolute favourite bits:

There was no quarreling with the math of "splitting" seven games. K.C. had a little Yogi Berra in him and never got hung up on details.

"There couldn't possibly be another NBA coach in the past two decades less knowledgeable or less interested in pursuit of NBA minutiae," wrote Ryan.

In this spirit, Jones's pregame interviews with Johnny Most produced broadcast gems. Before the first Celtics-Lakers game of 1986, Most asked K.C. how he planned to stop veteran forward Jamaal Wilkes. Most didn't know that Wilkes had been waived by the Lakers and signed by the Clippers over the summer. Fortunately for Johnny, the coach of the Celtics didn't know either. Thus, listeners to the broadcast were treated to a discussion in which the voice of the Celtics and the head coach of the Celtics plotted ways to contain a player who no longer played for the Lakers. Radio gold.
A different time, indeed. I loved those C's.

Mazzulla has a little Bill Belichick in him. Just listened to one of his recent interviews.

Total wise guy to the media. Doesn't say too much. Gets a little snippy. Seems sensitive.

Hey, if you win that's all good. But if they can't nab a title this year he's going to face heavy criticism. Tough position to be in.

No one hanged in the air like this ever. I think he's the goat still. And even if he isn't, I can't see how you can think anyone made basketball look better.

All star draft: Am I really meant to believe they have 2 jerseys ready for every player and they haven’t already selected the teams and issued jerseys?

C's at Philly tonight at 8:30 on ABC. Network couldn't ask for a better primetime match up.

I randomly watched the Clippers/Kings game last night. Ended up being the 2nd highest scoring game in league history. Wild game.

Yes that's a random one but very newsworthy.

I just randomly watched that crazy Iowa - Mich State game and they made references to this NBA game.

Iowa trailed 91-78 with 1:34 remaining before catching fire from 3-point distance. The Hawkeyes made 6-of-9 3-pointers in the final minute and a half, including the last four in a row in the final 32 seconds to tie the game.

Am I old fashioned for thinking when you’re down 5 with 15 seconds you should still foul and extend the game?

Post LeBron Heat:
Year A: What a spunky fun team! They're probably not gonna win it all but man they're fun to watch!
Year B: These games are brutal. They're not good and crushingly boring to watch. Blow it up!

Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has reached an agreement to sell his portion of the Bucks to Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam for a $3.5 billion valuation, sources told ESPN.

Tatum's inferiority complex and constant comparing himself to greatness and individual efforts is so annoying. This is what he said after getting tossed in last night's loss to the Knicks.

"But all the great players get thrown out a few times in their career," he said. "So, it's good for my rep."
