I don't understand why people seem to have such a problem with wigs. Just get a wig. Super convenient. Though I would never get one because you have to take it off before jumping in the pool, and the wind could blow it off or something and that'd all be pretty embarrassing.

I'm a year younger and can relate. Although when I was in my 20s I firmly believed I'd never make it to my 30s, so I'm pretty sure I got out most of my crises in the latter half of that decade. Though some surely linger.VinylGuy wrote:im turning 40 this year and i guess i ve been living my midlife crisis since i turned 30 or so

I have basically been getting it cut shorter and that's been working out. I have most of my hair. It's just really thin at the hairline and it's def been pushed back an inch or so.

Don't worry about it. Nobody is paying attention to you. They're all thinking about themselves and their own foul odors, hairlines, awkward boners, etc..

Health wise, I was doing really good up until about age 44-1/2, and then, a bunch of little shit piled up like rosacea on my face, a stye on my eyelid that lasted three months only followed by popping a blood vessel in my other eye, which was harmless but left me with a red eye for another month or so.

That's what my therapist says, he thinks I'm crazy to be worried about it and complements me on my hair. He's a nice guy.tree_ wrote:Don't worry about it. Nobody is paying attention to you. They're all thinking about themselves and their own foul odors, hairlines, awkward boners, etc..
Amazingly, I have no need for Viagra yet, speaking of boners.

Re: What is Your Ideal Midlife Crisis?
I gave chatGPT the information you provided and this is what it had to say:
Based on the information you provided, it is possible that Coach may be experiencing a midlife crisis. The fact that he has been leasing the same car for a decade and has a younger girlfriend could be indicators of him trying to recapture his youth and vitality. Additionally, the financial and emotional strain of paying child support and experiencing a receding hairline could be contributing to his feelings of dissatisfaction and a desire for change. The fact that Coach does not need Viagra to achieve an erection may be a positive sign in terms of his sexual health and functioning. However, it is important to note that midlife crisis is not necessarily related to sexual function or performance, and the presence or absence of erectile dysfunction does not necessarily indicate whether someone is experiencing a midlife crisis or not.
However, it's important to note that midlife crises can manifest in many different ways and may not necessarily include these specific factors. It's also important to keep in mind that other life events or circumstances could be contributing to Coach's feelings and behaviors, and a proper diagnosis can only be made by a qualified professional.

Re: What is Your Ideal Midlife Crisis?
well yeah, turning 30 was surprising. A few friends died very young, and there were a couple of years were you can felt death all arround the hood. I kinda feel the same than in my 20s actually and im way more productive that in those years.tree_ wrote:I'm a year younger and can relate. That's interesting. I don't feel in crisis, though, so that's why I am not panicking, just have my eyes open. I def can relate to liking and engaging in change right now.tree_ wrote:I gave chatGPT the information you provided and this is what it had to say:

Re: What is Your Ideal Midlife Crisis?
You're not panicking, so it's not a crisis. When you panic, it's a crisis. It's really not about our situations, but how we deal with them. Have you ever tried meditation? Wim Hoff breathing has been a life saver for me. You can find a guided version on youtube or here's some quick instructions. Though I usually only inhale like 10 timesn
1. Find a comfortable and quiet place to sit or lie down.
2. Take 30 quick and deep breaths in succession, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Your breathing should be rapid but not forced.
3. After the 30th breath, take a deep breath and exhale. Hold your breath for as long as you can without straining or feeling uncomfortable.
4. When you feel the urge to breathe again, take a deep breath and hold it for 10-15 seconds.
5. Exhale and resume normal breathing.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for 2-4 rounds.

Re: What is Your Ideal Midlife Crisis?
I used to have anxiety and panic attacks, but once I cut out the mental health meds I was good to go. A few years back I was def "over medicated" I think there's way too much of that in our society. Yeah, I like meditation but prefer my gym work outs to reduce / manage stress.tree_ wrote:You're not panicking, so it's not a crisis. When you panic, it's a crisis. It was 60 last week and I took my eight year old to a beach near Boston. It was fantastic.dad wrote:I do miss the beach very much.Coach wrote:if by nature, we can include the beach (on warm and cold days) then count me in.dad wrote:still feel like this is my best scenario.dad wrote:i think i'd be more inclined to pack up my shit and get out in nature.

having a midlife crisis assumes you are going to live twice your age. pretty ballsy in this day and age
