Bammer I’m curious, what do you see the other side (dems etc) doing that you feel is comparable to what the governor in the video B posted is doing? I take your post to mean you think this kind of stuff is just the usual politics and both sides are doing it.
Ever been to Seattle?
Ever been to a drag show?
You're god damn right I have.

Pick a topic (environment, housing, police, taxes, etc.) and I’ll get you an example.

A better example of clearly unconstitutional laws from both sides is California's medical misinformation law. Clearly worse than this, but prohibiting expression based on what, vibes? is no way to govern.

they get lumped in together because it is members of one sex dressing up like another and people assume that is all what transgenders are, pretending to be. while from what i have seen transgenders dont just pretend but live their life as the sex opposite they were born with (i am sure i mangled that last part so forgiveness in advance)

I put it here instead of starting a whole different thread, but if you'd rather this be trans only and no all LGBTQ+ issues, I'd be happy to split it for you.

that's definitely for you to figure out Bi_3

I'm hoping to visit my partner out in North Carolina next year, and I'm fearing that by then it will be illegal (not just unsafe, it's already unsafe) to travel in my normal, every day clothes, let alone exist as myself for two weeks while I'm there

also, they are literally being connected by lawmakers banning both (and the other, under the deliberate smokescreen of "drag")

our fight against the illegality of "drag" was the reason the Stonewall Riots started, when Martha P. Johnson, a Black trans woman (who also identified and worked as a drag queen, as many of us did and do) threw the first brick

A bill just got proposed in Florida that would ban preferred pronouns in public schools.
House Bill 1223 would require schools to adopt policies that support the notion that "a person's sex is an immutable biological trait."

"It shall be the policy of every public K-12 educational institution that is provided or authorized by the Constitution and laws of Florida that a person's sex is an immutable biological trait and that it is false to ascribe to a person a pronoun that does not correspond to such person's sex," the bill reads.

"Sex" would be defined in the education code as "the binary division of individuals based upon reproductive function."

The bill would ban employees and students from being required to refer to a person by their preferred pronouns if they don't correspond to that person's sex.

The legislation goes further, saying employees of public schools shall be prohibited from referring to a student by his or her preferred pronouns if they do not correspond to that person's sex.

Not sure about this one as she literally told a historian who interviewed her about Stonewall that she was not there when it started.

you mean you're not sure she was the first to throw a brick? I mean sure, the movement goes back further than her; the particular riot she was involved in was a moment in history when the Stonewall clientele decided they'd had enough and fought back

anyway you've gone from "why don't you believe that I support you?" to "not sure about this one" whenever I speak in a few weeks, so that's cool
