Re: New Song: Lightning Bolt
This turned into a 5 star song for me. It just soars and I know everyone hates the fade out, but I think it's one of the better parts of the song, how he sings "like you!" and Mike (?) goes into that guitar, and it's just firing on all cylinders, fading out. Never really ending, just going on into infinity.

Re: New Song: Lightning Bolt
Yes, my friends, in a perfect world I would walk the littered streets of a filipino mountain village. I would spot her there, a stunning young virgin with the charm of innocence and grunge naivety, 28 years of age. Our eyes would meet and with a rather harsh live version of Thin Air playing in the background from the boom box of an elderly English parlor owner behind the counter with his young filipina bride swaying in tune sporting a flannel mini skirt while a motorbike zoomed past overloaded with 7 passengers, one balancing teeter-tottering roosters on his cranium and another propped on the handlebars shedding a coconut with his teeth for 10 pesos, she would ask, excuse me 'fine sir, could you tell me who is doing the song I hear play'? In which I would reply in my deepest baritone, 'yes, my dear, it is Pearl Jam. I know them well'. She would then utter the sweet words I long to hear, 'is Jam Pearl your favorite band'? I would then reply, 'why yes, my love, it most certainly is'. My vicarious adventure would start at that moment as I began unveiling the Pearl Jam kaleidoscope. We would marry and she would learn the way of the grunge cowboy.

I heard the Wrigley version of this song. For the life of me I can't figure out why some yayhoos here despise it.

By the way, as defined on urbandictionary.com. Yayhoo was originally used to describe a certain tribe of wild individuals found in Kentucky mountain regions. Daniel Boone once described them as a race of wild hairy giants, well known for bad behavior & violent etc.
I'm guessing they also smelled very bad and had offspring who would be inept at recognizing great Pearl Jam tunes.

I challenge every inhabitant of this ghastly forum to a pledge of honesty! I haven't heard this album, only the song, but there is no way LB should rank lower than 3rd best on the album. Its probably the very best song on the album!

That might've been the case if there weren't better ones.

She probably exists. He gets pretty condescending about her in later posts, which is a sure sign of a male response to an actual female.theplatypus wrote:She doesn't even exist, does she.flannelking wrote: My gf had never heard of Pearl Jam until I sent her the Siren's video. Your reply is typical of a female's critical analysis of a male being condescending toward a female. Would you like to date?
