I have the apt to myself tonight and I want to watch a movie. Something that's on streaming. Something I haven't seen. Something that was released in the last, say, three years. Any recs?

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

This is on our short list
It's phenomenal. I rarely like movies about children, but this one gets it just right

I really enjoyed Creed III. It's a fun way to spend a couple hours at the movies. It does a good job of exploring a theme and digging at it from a few angles. The training sequences were fun to watch, as they should be in a Rocky movie. And it tries (and succeeds) at doing some unexpected things.

I'd recommend it if you're on the fence

But see, you have to say that after we gave you a hard time for hyping up the trailer. You're just trying to save face.

I gave Amsterdam an hour before pulling the plug. What a wasted opportunity that was. With a cast like that.

Unreal.

Mark Wahlberg recently called it "Women Are Talking" at the SAG awards

“ “woman talking?” That’s a horror movie right there!!” And Sarah Polley slaps him. Everyone criticize her because she hit a black dude.

It’s a Liam Neeson action movie, in the mould of Taken. Quite decent, not exceptional.

I love all those Old Man Liam Neeson Action Movies. (Well, the two from last year were kind of garbage, but I still hold out hope for future installments)
