I do feel that way with marvel and Star Wars crap, which is sad because I like the source material for both. Same with whatever post apocalyptic/zombie series is popular at any given time.

I think it's become endemic to the whole industry. Obviously, there are exceptions, but it's getting harder.

Maybe Tarantino is right and it's just cyclical, but this cycle is dragging on.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I'm excited to see it, though the trailer didn't really sell me on it

I rewatched Creed II recently and liked it better than I remembered

It's less about new art, and more about specific makers of art (Hollywood or Disney+, etc.), which is increasingly incapable.

There's definitely something happening where the industry seems to be getting narrower. But 2022 was also my favorite year for movies in a long while, so it's hard to say.
