I feel like they saved all the applications from crazy people for this season; I don’t know if your Carolyns and Yam Yams are going to make it to the merge, but they are great characters.

No lie, my wife and I were watching this tonight, and when the guy who got the concussion jumped under the first obstacle, she said, “If he’s not more careful, he’s going to bash his head in.”
I’m surprised he wasn’t pulled for concussion that first day.
It was interesting how the word “concussion” was never used.

We said the same thing. All Probst said was “he’s great, he’ll be fine.” It was quite obvious he was concussed.

Yeah, very suspicious. I was waiting for it to be said or hinted at. Must be a touchy subject since Football has had issues with concussions and Survivor doesn't want to be lumped into that.

If I were a conspiracy theorist about this sort of stuff (I am), I bet they cut all references to concussions because they let him stay in the game after his initial injury.

I just got the impression Jeff said he was "going to be fine" to imply there was no long term damage. A concussion is serious, don't get me wrong, but not a life threatening injury.

That was a pretty crazy tribal. I know there are many vocal critics of the three tribes of six to start every season, but I'm a fan. It brings real stakes to these early tribals and allows you to get to know the contestants.

No, but the way he said it was made it seem like he only had a hangnail.

I’m sure it’s not the first time someone was voted off with only one vote, but it sure was a really weird tribal the way everything played out.

So do we think there’s an advantage/idol hidden in the chessboard in the voting booth?

I was thinking there was something more to it. It also appears the chess pieces move between different tribals.

As much as she’s getting on my nerves, Carolyn is playing a great game. Her little ploy with the fake idol was fantastic.

This season continues to be one of the most entertaining they’ve had.

But didn't she keep the fake idol for herself by mistake?

It looked like in the one on one two episodes back when she won, she held up the real one and said it was the fake (or vice versa, can't remember)

Pretty sure she has the real one. And Sarah went home with the fake one. Pretty funny that she hates herself for not playing the idol we knew to be fake. I’d love to be there when she discovers it’s a fake.

Looking around the internet a bit, some people are saying that the real/fake idols are switched for each tribe. So that could be where my confusion is at.

Interesting!
especially if some of these are still in the game at a merge!

Sorry to see Matt go. For some reason we were under the assumption Lauren had to use her extra vote at that tribal. Especially when she asked Probst about it. Turns out it wasn’t needed.

Too many gimmicks this season. Can we just have one normal tribal?

If the winning team didn’t have that convenient “you can choose someone and change their vote” advantage that tribal is completely different.

You don’t think they were already voting Matt?
