Can you sing?

Post by Jorge »

Can you carry a tune? Are you a super talented singer? If not, would you like to be?

I think for me, the "raw materials" are there, I think I have a pretty good natural voice. But I have zero technique and have never taken any lessons, so it's incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes when I sing it'll come out silky smooth and I hit every note and other times it'll be a total mess. I'd love to be a consistently good singer, I'm fascinated with people who do it effortlessly. It's like a really cool party trick.

I did sing in a choir before, as did my father when he was alive. I could easily sing at a karaoke or something like that, or if we're singing happy birthday or similar songs, I'll lead the way, but by no means do I consider myself a good singer. I'm also uneven of course, one day I feel like I nailed it, and another time the song or the moment is just wrong.

I’m similar. I’m not interested in performing and what comes with it, but am very interested in the creative choices available for artistic expression, and singing opens up lots of accessible, personal choices, Particularly when putting chords together on a guitar or piano.

I cannot sing, but I do it anyway, mostly when no one is around.

I wouldn't mind learning to carry a tune once in a while.

I’m decent. I liked my singing voice more when I was smoking.

Absolutely not. Sadly, I suck at singing.

I believe pretty much anyone can learn how to sing. Though it comes easier to some than others. Like everything.

Just between you and me, I was the one who killed GD (intentionally) in order to wipe that recording (of me singing) from the interwebs.

I'm a good enough musician to understand that I suck and to give up.

You can probably sing better than Anthony Kiedis.

For real this time.
