I just literally can't believe anyone in this entire world who likes movies and enjoys art can possibly rank Maverick in the top anything.

It's not at the top of my list, but it's a perfectly structured film with super satisfying build-up/payoff arcs, absolutely gorgeous cinematography, some extremely exciting action sequences, winsome performances, and even some dramatic weight. From this list of nominees, of which I think only 4 are truly great movies, it's my number 2 behind The Fabelmans. I think it's probably the best massive blockbuster we've had in years
