Very interesting movie set in French Colonial Algerie, starring Viggo Mortensen.

The narrative follows Daru, an Algerian-born French teacher, tasked with delivering Mohammad, an Algerian murder suspect, into the hands of French authorities as the Algerian War of Independence ignites.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It’s bottom tier Anderson. The whole story-within-story thing is exhausting to me. Lost 20 minutes and just focus on the main story.

As a comedy, I don’t find it funny. My wife, who has not seen it before, seems to find it quite funny.

As a drama, it is hard to take it seriously. Even if I compare it to the sillier Coen movies.

The cinematograhy is highly loved, but does nothing for me.

Still, I do think I will rate it slightly higher than before. I’m up to it’s ok watching it, sometimes a third viewing can be the better than the ones before it . At least it’s well made, and has a somewhat interesting story.

ugh i hated GBH. From that list...mmmm Whiplash is the clear winner...then American Sniper and Boyhood. The theory of everything, selma and birdman are laughably bad. Dont even remember imitation game
