I think it would be neat as a trip for this specific birthday, but I also feel like I would want some time to explore South Africa as well, so that pushes the trip pretty much into 2.5 to 3 weeks. Not sure either of our employers would go for that at this point. My other option would be to save that for a retirement trip and instead do either North England and Scotland, or some kind of Nordic trip.

Ruddo completely abandons us for over half a year and then comes back and just casually drops this lit fuse in our laps and you expect Spike to just accept it with no questions asked?lennytheweedwhacker wrote:Coming off very traggish here.spike wrote:I’m genuinely curious.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:Back off man.spike wrote:So what’s the draw? I love the feeling of insignificance. Of feeling small in this big world and universe. I think I’d really get that risk being out in the middle of the Atlantic like thatspike wrote:I’m genuinely curious.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:Back off man.spike wrote:So what’s the draw? What's funny is I'm now about as old as you old guys were when I first joined RM. Back then, I thought you were all really old. Now you're all truly ancient and I don't think I'm that old myself, after all

One of the best memories I have of our recent caravan adventure was sitting around a small fire totally alone (well, the 2 of us, but you know) about 300m in the scrub off the Nullarbor Highway. Vast sky overhead, literally in the middle of nowhere. The insignificance was very real. And awesome.
