This series has been a turd from start to finish with varying degrees of polish that fully depends on its audience’s nostalgia for TNG. That polish is much shinier thus far in season 3 with the notable exception being Rafi. Hard to watch.

S03E03 had a few moments I would have liked to see play out different but overall a good episode. The villain reveal was satisfying.

Just finished episode 3. It grinds to a halt as soon as Rafi shows up. I wish the writing were better.

S03E04 was great but still not sure about Jack. I kinda hate him. Jonathan Frakes has never been better. Ever. MVP.

Unfortunately I think I know who it is I was watching a review before the season started and they were showing screen caps and they showed something they shouldn't have and I'm not even sure they realized it. It's very cool though just really wish I didn't see it.

Riker: *chooses the certain death option so he can leave a voicemail for Troi*
Also Riker: “I cannot choose certain death.”

Pretty compelling episode otherwise. Great, even.

One thing that’s rubbed me the wrong way all series is the shift to an R-rated tone with all the violence, gore, sex, language, etc. I’m typically all for more adult content in my sci-fi fantasy (see: Andor), but it’s never felt right for Picard.

Other than Picard‘s “dipshit from Chicago” line. That was gold.

Agreed Star Trek should be all ages for the most part. This season toned a lot of it down except the language. I can live with it. That was a good line.

Another thing about this part that bothered me was "spend time getting to know your son" because we are going to die, but even though death is inevitable, I'm going to assign someone to hunt down the mole on our ship.

If you have 5 minutes 'til death, are you gonna spend 4 of those getting your affairs in order before pivoting to an attempt not to die?

Not sure that was the timeline but I defer.

I’m still on the fence with Jack. Don’t hate him tho. Liking Shaw more and more.

Agreed about Frakes. I wish he directed every episode.

Also, I never want this season to end.

I’m exaggerating for effect. They had several hours. If there was the remotest of chances to get out of it, seems like a better use of time figuring out how.

this has been the best of the 3 by far. Love having 7 back on a Starfleet ship too. Miss those bodysuits she used to wear tho.

and this might just be the way i see her but Beverly looks like she met up with the face stretchin people from "Insurection".

Spoiler: show
Ro?!? Are you fucking kidding me? And she’s Worf’s handler?
They’re really pulling out all the stops for this. I’ll admit some giddiness when Picard and Riker have that final meeting. Goddamn. This is how TNG should’ve gone out. Not that terrible movie.

Hard to believe it’s already halfway over.

I"m really liking Capt. Shaw. That exchange in the turbo lift was funny as fuck.

My hopes are we get either Janeway or Sisco appearing soon.

Great easter eggs in this ep
