Had to fire a provider unexpectedly today. Never a pleasant thing but with providers, I have the added misery of adding 45-90 days before I can even start a replacement.

This one had patients already in rooms, some she had already started to see, others not, and she got a phone call. After the call she got up from her chair, told the MA she had to go and just left. Unacceptable. There have already been suspicions from law enforcement that she was engaged in extra-legal activities so of course now we’re left wondering if that’s the real reason as to why she left.

So I had to call her this afternoon and tell her not to come back. It was actually a quite pleasant conversation. She said she expected my call and she understood. Didn’t make it any easier tho.
