Probably even more irrational is that "watch this space" doesn't bug me.

Everything that has been my lenny experience has led me to believe we’d like each other, particularly that you would like me. Until now.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:People talking even moderately loudly when there’s no need.

It probably has to do with me being a shy, humble person, and also being alone most of the time.

Re: Things you have an irrational hatred of
I think I've ranted about this before, but the technology around appointment reminders is driving me bonkers!
I have a doctor's appointment that the staff watched me put into my phone calendar while I stood in front of them, and STILL I get 2 texts, an e-mail, and a phone call, all of which want me to respond in some way or another to confirm that I got them.
Fuck off! I'm an adult, and I know how to write shit down.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Lol, this came up yesterday to the point where I said something. My dog had a vet appointment. I received 4 texts in the last two weeks asking me to confirm. I did each time, for fear of having the appointment cancelled if I didn't. When I was checking out yesterday, I asked if I could pay a little more to not have so many reminders sent (he has to go back Monday). They kind of laughed but I said I was serious, it is too many.

watching people text their buddies on movies and TV shows and getting those silly pop-up graphics so that we know what they're writing

It's the equivalent of showing you a written letter in older movies, or an email or whatever. It's perspective; what the character is seeing. Why not show it?
