I've embraced it... I just giggle like a bashful child when it tries to snog me.

I agree with all of this, but what makes no sense is that the majority of reviews I've read call out this song as a highlight. What are we missing?

It sounds beautiful and atmospheric on first listen, for those that aren't put off by sentimental schmaltz. It's hard to argue that it doesn't sound very pretty. The fact that it sounds too pretty isn't something most reviewers are worried about. Kings of Leon stuff has the same kind of cheese a lot of the time, but reviewers rarely comment on it.

I'm enjoying future days a lot more than Yellow moon.
I'm not a skipper but I keep finding myself wanting to skip YM

I think maybe they should be reversed

I may be totally stupid but a few people have mentioned this, and apart from the extreme distaste for the song, what's wrong with this?

It's a marmite song, for sure.

Listening to it in a vaccum i guess its not that bad but Yellow Moon is pretty damn good and does a pretty damn good job of closing the album on its own.

I'm still thinking of the death, suicide / afterlife pairing, so they go together for me. But musically yeah, I can see Yellow Moon being the big finale.

I do like that conceptual pairing. Future Days just needs to have a little of the Pendulum or parting ways treatment (really moody and encompassing music) for it to successfully follow up Yellow Moon

The bridge should have the thundering and droning guitars of the Parting Ways chorus.

It's a terrible, bottom of the barrel melodrama that no one with artistic pride should associate themselves with. In someways fitting for Future Days.
