Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

You're goddamn right.
Production + songwriting are equally sublime. Even the lesser songs are so engaging just from the drum sounds, the guitar playing, the harmonies, the colors and textures from the delay and reverb. Just getting lost in sounds over here.
There are days when it's my favorite Bowie record.

I see no argument that it isn't top 3.

Hearing and loving Criminal World back when I was but a 12 year old lad in the early 80's was a real eye opener for me and started me actively seeking the joy of the cool 'deeper cut'.

I saw Bowie on the next tour in Philadelphia.
General admission but I stood right in front of him.
Canoodled my way to the front gradually. Best spot in the house.
He performed on MTV the next day on short notice.
I wasn't expecting him to sorta-kinda retire after that. Another lucky break.

Well, I never got to see Bowie live and I'm offended that anyone who did wants to throw their experience in my face!

I saw him way, way back in 1983 on his "Serious Moonlight" tour. I was one cool 12 year old, I tells ya.
