Yeah. Mike wrote MYM.
wow, it has such a soundgarden vibe to it. It screamed Matt to me.
It's Mike ripping off Dead Kennedies, so he says. Obviously Ed's lyrics.

breakerfall is fucking awesome, what are you talking about? also, evacuation is not given enough credit - it's a good song. and while I'm not a huge fan of god's dice, it's still good.
Guys, these are all great, passionate songs. But GD, Breakerfall and Evacuation are not better than SOLAT.

The fact that LB is the first time this hasn't happened tells me something.
quoted for truth.

let the dust settle and we'll see where this lands.

if there's a song on here that would be in your top 25 (or for me, 40) Pearl Jam songs, more power to you.
I think "Yellow Moon" has a shot. It would have a better shot if the guitars were amped up more at the end, it was stretched out a bit and had the BOB keyboard shit buried in the mix or eliminated completely. It really is a great f*cking tune that I wish the rest of the album was more like. The album really still really falls apart after LB—more than any PJ album before it in my opinion (with the exception of YM of course).

that sounds about right on a scale from one to five- right in the middle.
Well, the trouble is, there isn't much to play with between 2.5 and 5. There's only like 2.5 points. So I think that to be more accurate, you'd have to use a potential of 10.
I try to stay away from actually ranking songs, but I get what you mean - I think of MYM as a good solid, if somewhat poppy, punk like song - not quite punk, (the chorus kind of brings it down for me) and not quite pop - so it's a fair representation of a good effort with a somewhat stunted follow-through.

wow, I haven't posted that much about a pearl jam song (being serious) in like 8 years. :P

I agree. I don't hate SOLAT but it's never done much for me. The lyrics are vague and the band sounds tired playing it now. Like Evenflow it's sort of perfunctory at this point. The opening salvo of Binaural is really strong.

SOLAT, to me, captures the quintessential Pearl Jam sound better than any other song.

The lyrics to SOLAT are vaguer than the lyrics to God's Dice?

How about this... the best version of SOLAT ever is the Unplugged one.
