I am trying to spot the two basses in here. Not sure I hear them.

This is one of the better bridges on the album. There are lots of nice little details

Okay, Lbolt and swallowed whole are the two songs I most wanted clean copies of.

Matts drums are clearer during the second part of the 1st verse.

God I love those quick little dueling solos

Everything is much sharper.

Best climax/outro in so long.

How do they get that church bell effect during the outro?

So the thought occurs that while the UK comparison is obvious, Lbolt may be more like the song fixer wanted to be.

So I still find myself kinda trying to deny that I really like sirens. I wonder at what point I stop.

5 favorite sirens moments

1. Over....whelmed
2. The way the acoustic guitar matches the last notes of the solo
3. The fear goes away part at the end
4. The ah has at the end
5. Stones whale calls

I've just realised: back in the 90's, I used to say that number 8 was always my favourite song on a PJ album. S/T and Backspacer broke that tradition. "Swallowed Whole" does a very good job of fighting to get it back again.

As long as we're coming clean, I think SBM is a great song with a sweet little groove.

They really don't have any other songs like this. Not bad for a catalog about 180 songs deep

Pendulum sounds really good. Lots of nice parts to pick up on. I love the acoustic guitar at the end

So over halfway through and BoB did a really nice job on these songs, I think. Any major complaints now that we have flacs?

Just the opposite. Nothing but glowing things to say about this one for me.

I kinda wish the acoustic and jangly electric guitars had different tones for the first verse. I like them on the chorus.

Nice little harmonics to transition into the 2nd verse.

The dddddddrown part is kinda dumb.

Can definitely make out more parts now. Still swallowed whole feels a little crowded.

Bridge sounds great

For all the solos on this record mike only has two I love. Lbolt and mym. I really like the idea of the solo here, but I can't bring myself to love it

There's still too much stuff poured all over Future Days.

Having said that, as I've said before, the effects on the keyboard actually make it more tasteful than it could've been. There are some reversed notes which rise into the first chord, and there are notes played backwards underneath the intro and the outro. Add the reverb and some delay, and it sounds a little Sigur Ros-like. Not that good, clearly, but it's not just a Casio keyboard either. There's a bit of atmosphere there. I wish they'd utilised more of the violinist and less of the spacey keyboards in those choruses though.
