O, I got a zoo, I got a menagerie, inside my ribs, under my bony head, under my red-valve heart—and I got something else: it is a man-child heart, a woman-child heart: it is a father and mother and lover: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.

You should sell your actual yard so you can’t have anymore yard sales

Here's something that bothers me about the English language. Very commonly you'll see something referred to as "one of the single most important [things]," "one of the single most amazing [things]," "one of the single most impressive [things]." And it bothers me because in my brain something should either be "the single most important thing" (emphasis on SINGLE, as in, it's exceptional and there is no other at its level), or "one of the most important things" (as in it's one of a group of greatly important things). To me they contradict each other, like you can't be both "one of" and "the single most." I think I'm the wrong one here because of how common "one of the single most" is, but it really bugs me whenever I hear it. It feels wrong!

Maybe try thinking of it like, something is one of the single most important things because while an attribute is the single most best, other things are single most better in other ways. And then if you combine all the single most best important things, you get something like Dino Megazord.

no you're right, it's ridiculous

I think of the sense of it as: if you had a handful of those amazing things, you could still pick out THIS thing as uniquely amazing for its own reasons; it kind of wants to preserve the uniqueness of each thing rather than just ranking them all in a pile

but that's all a bit silly really
