Yeah, cartoons and kids movies are dubbed here, with subtitled versions usually screening at nighttime for adults. But for some reason the Mario movie is like... one subtitled screening for every 10 dubbed screenings. I think I'll have to wait until it comes out on digital.Anders wrote:Here we only dub cartoons, so Mario is probably available in both versions. Sometimes the dubbed versions (like Ice Age and Shrek), receive more praise than the original, even if everyone older than 6 knows English, and we are used to watching a lot of movies and TV in English.
The guy who does the dubbed donkey in Shrek is much better than the original. Just amazing.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I have seen the first ten before, and ranked them all highly. I’ve only seen most of them once, and especially look forward to rewatching Room and Spotlight. The Star Wars one I have probably seen five times, but will see it again.
The next forty I have not seen before. Here I am really looking forward to seeing Carol, The Lobster, Green Room and Brooklyn, and will probably save these for the final movies of the year.

I haven't seen Independence Day since I was a kid. Does it hold up at all? Will Smith basically sucks*, save for his performance in I Am Legend.

Honestly, I haven't seen many of them (probably because I'm English)
I rewatched The Patriot recently and it wasn't as bad as I remembered it being. Independence Day I haven't seen since it was in theaters. I don't imagine it's held up very well.

Didn’t love the film, but that does sound like fun.
