Re: Transgender Rights
Do you staunch supporters have an age limit? Just curious, how do you decide?

The only time there's going to be a problem is if you insist someone else does what you think is beste.

This is simple to say, but what happens here when the beliefs of the two groups cannot be reconciled? Imagine a high school locker room where freshman girls (13-14 yo) are going to change and shower after practice and an 18 year old self-id'd transwomen is in there and insists on showering at the same time they do. If the girls do not consent to being seen showering by this person and to be exposed to this adult's body, who compromises under your assertion?

Is the issue that it's an adult or that she's trans?Bi_3 wrote:JuanHamm wrote:You do what you think is best and other people do what they think is best.tree_ wrote:As a parent, it’s worth thinking about. If the issue is that she's trans then I'd tell them the same thing I'd tell someone that doesn't want to shower with a gay person or a person of a different race - That's your problem, get over it.

Re: Transgender Rights
The reason this is such a contentious issue is that I could go to the gym today, walk right into the womens locker room with naked women showering, join them and assert that I am pre-op trans woman and if anyone gets upset I’m in there, I’m the victim now.JuanHamm wrote:Is the issue that it's an adult or that she's trans?Bi_3 wrote:JuanHamm wrote:You do what you think is best and other people do what they think is best.tree_ wrote:As a parent, it’s worth thinking about. I don’t think anyone should be naked in front of others, ever. What’s the difference what parts someone has if they’re staring at your naked body?

I think you both need to seek therapy regarding your puritanical belief that there's something inherently shameful or wrong about a naked human.Bammer wrote:The reason this is such a contentious issue is that I could go to the gym today, walk right into the womens locker room with naked women showering, join them and assert that I am pre-op trans woman and if anyone gets upset I’m in there, I’m the victim now.JuanHamm wrote:Is the issue that it's an adult or that she's trans?Bi_3 wrote:JuanHamm wrote:You do what you think is best and other people do what they think is best.tree_ wrote:As a parent, it’s worth thinking about. And you are free to feel that way of course, but recognize that you are creating a problem by forcing children to do what you think is best against their wishes while they are at their most vulnerable.

Re: Transgender Rights
This scenario is solved by giving all people non-gendered spaces with individual bathing areas. Costly and burdensome on facilities, but a way to assure everyone of their respect.

The problem is illusory. There's nothing inherently wrong with a naked human body.Bi_3 wrote:JuanHamm wrote:Is the issue that it's an adult or that she's trans?Bi_3 wrote:JuanHamm wrote:You do what you think is best and other people do what they think is best.tree_ wrote:As a parent, it’s worth thinking about. Boggles the mind why the trans movement is tied to the MAP movement.

Re: Transgender Rights
Tommy I think you should consider some naked people are not comfortable around other naked people, particularly of a different sex. They deserve respect too.
